MiniDates presented last week at eAmore NYC. Here are some highlights from the event.
Aaron Schildkrout of recent HowAboutWe success gave a great keynote touching on shortcomings on current industry models and privacy concerns (inability to use Facebook social data to generate meaningful leads). On a positive note, he also pointed out possible directions for innovations in the field of online dating such as mimicking existing real live approaches such as a network of moms, monetizing the date itself (selling the experience) and his ultimate dream of DNA analysis based matching.

Afterwards, a fireside chat occurred, which included two panels. The first panel was about user growth and content—leveraging APIs. The speakers were from Badoo, Sonar, and Hotlist. The second panel was about financing your idea—seed to exit. The speakers were from IAC, MentorTech Ventures, and Blazer Ventures.

Lastly, twelve demos were shown, including MiniDates. The event was a success and provided a great opportunity to those in the online and mobile dating industry.
